CAVE EXPLORING

The valleys of Central Pennsylvania are floored with carbonate rock and some of this is cave forming limestone.  While PA caves are generally small, they do offer cavers beauty and challenge to practice their skills.  Experienced cavers don't venture underground without the proper equipment and technique.  The National Speleological Society (NSS) has several local chapters in Pennsylvania called Grottos and these clubs can provide the proper gear and instruction.  Check the links below for more info.
